There are multiple ongoing projects which make up the Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area (CRA).

Project Limits

• Segment 3: From the intersection of State Road 79 (South Arnold Road) and Panama City Beach Parkway (US 98). south to Front Beach Road, and also includes Front Beach Road from Cabana Cay Boulevard east to Lullwater Drive.
• Segment 4.1: Front Beach Road from Lullwater Drive, where Segment 3 ends, to Hills Road and includes Powell Adams.
• Segment 4.2: Front Beach Road from east of Hills Road, where Segment 4.1 ends, to west of Lantana Street.
• Segment 4.3: Front Beach Road from State Road 392A (Hutchison Boulevard) to west of Richard Jackson Boulevard. 
• Alf Coleman Road: From Panama City Beach Parkway south to Hutchison Boulevard.

Project Status

• Segment 3: anticipated completion mid 2025, pending utility relocation.
• Segment 4.1: joint project with 4.2, working through permitting process now.
• Segment 4.2: joint project with 4.1, working through permitting process now.
• Segment 4.3: working through the right-of-way acquisition process now.
• Alf Coleman Road: safety and rehabilitation work started October 2023 and was completed September 2024.

Front Beach Road CRA provides a framework for redevelopment of infrastructures for the next 30 years. Adopted by the Panama City Beach City Council in 2001, the plan will enhance 20 miles of existing roadways on Front Beach Road to include:

• Widening streets to 3 and 4 lanes.
• Enhancing roadway lighting, paving, striping and turn lanes.
• Landscaped medians.
• New signage.
• Hardscape, landscaping and sidewalks.
• Drainage ponds.
• Undergrounding of all utilities.
