What You Need to Know to Stay Safe!

Like other coastal cities in Florida, the City of Panama City Beaches uses the International Life Saving Federation beach flag warning definitions to let beachgoers know about water conditions at the beach.

Please review and observe carefully the flag warning system when venturing out to that perfect sunny day at the beach. Just because the water may appear to be shimmering and nice, doesn't mean the water is safe.

Different colored flags indicate the level of hazard, informing if it’s safe to swim or if there are dangers like strong currents.

When possible, please always swim near a lifeguard or the near-by flag pole when you at the beach and obey the Beach Warning Flags near you before entering the water.
