Lullwater Lake Basin Drone Mapping

Post Date:09/09/2025

On September 17th & 18th, (weather permitting) the City will be flying a low-altitude drone above Lullwater Lake and its four connecting lakes to map aquatic vegetation. The drone will provide the City with high-resolution aerial photography needed to identify and evaluate nuisance vegetation, sediment buildup, and infrastructure features which will support mitigation design and decision making.

The flight is timed to capture peak seasonal vegetation, providing a clear snapshot of current lake conditions. To meet visibility and flight line-of-site requirements, several ground-based launch locations
are being coordinated throughout the lake system.

For questions or more information about the upcoming Lullwater Lake Basin Drone Mapping, please contact the City of Panama City Beach Public Works Department at 850.708.6885 or visit www.pcbfl.gov.
