Temporary Closure of Gulf Blvd. Extended by FDOT

UPDATE 9/26/25 - The temporary closure of East Gulf Blvd., south of U.S. 98, has been extended through Wednesday, Oct. 1.

 

Message from FDOT: Inclement weather delayed completion of drainage work at East Gulf Boulevard, south of U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway). The roadway will remain closed through Wednesday, Oct. 1 until midnight.
 
Drivers may detour by turning south onto Nautilus Street and then west onto East Gulf Boulevard. The closure will not impact the U.S. 98 travel lanes. Directional signage will be used to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
 
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

Construction work being conducted by the Florida Department of Transporation will temporarily close East Gulf Boulevard, south of U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) Monday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 19. Construction crews will be installing new drainage pipes beneath the intersection.
